DEHRA DUN: A Hardwar district court has issued a non-bailable warrant against artist M F Husain and ordered that his property be attached for allegedly offending the sensibilities of 14 Indians.
The court on Friday passed that order while hearing a petition by a Hardwar resident, lawyer Arvind Srivastava that Husain had offended 'Indian' sensibilities with his paintings of Bharat Mata.

On March 7, Srivastava appealed to the court to take action against Husain, as the artist had not made an appearance in the court despite being summoned for over two months. He also said he had written support of 13 other people.
On the basis of written and verbal statements, judicial magistrate K L Shukla in December 2006 had first summoned Husain to his court on January 20. When the artist failed to do so, a bailable warrant was issued.
